A super introduction to one of Spain's hidden gems. The Bobal grape variety, though widely appreciated throughout Spain, is much less well-known here but this wine offers you the chance to address that. This is a mid-weight, juicy red with no oak and an appetising nudge of tannin matching it well with a wide variety of foods. You could even pop it in the fridge for half an hour in warmer weather.
Chozas Carrascal is a family-run winery in Valencia in eastern Spain. It was started in 1990 when Julain Lopez rescued some old Bobal vines and further planted with other varieties.
