Christmas Is Coming

Incredible as it seems it will be Christmas Eve two weeks today, so if you haven't yet thought about your Christmas wine requirements now is the time to do so.

Our stocks are good, but there always comes a point as Christmas approaches when we simply don't have time to restock with anything that we may have run out of, so if there's something specific from our range that you have your eye on please don't hang about.

National carriers are now getting extremely busy so if  you need anything sent out by us our advice is to order it sooner rather than later.

Our own van covers most of Suffolk and north Essex once a week but again will be busy so please order early if you require a delivery to help us get you the wines you want when you want them.  Delivery details here.

More Hidden Gems

A trio of stars from our recent winetasting.  Again these are hiding in plain sight on our website, but not yet on the shop shelves...

2019 Gigondas, Domaine La Font De Notre Dame, Rhone, France
Gigondas is unfairly labelled as the little brother of Chateauneuf du Pape.  Actually Gigondas stands in its own right but frequently represents better value than its more famous neighbour.

2017 Laderas del Norte, Bodegas Arzuaga, Ribera del Duero, Spain
One of the most powerful expressions of Tempranillo we've met in recent times.  Full, dark, flavoursome and just begging for some warming winter cooking.

2015 Noble Taminga, Trentham Estate, Murray Darling, Australia (half bottle)
Taminga is a grape variety that was created specifically to maintain acidity levels in Australia's hot climate.  Acidity is essential to maintain balance and freshness in pudding wines such as this.  A super option for lighter puddings but try with blue cheese for something different.

Newsletter

Typically we send 2-3 emails each month so you won't get floods of stuff from us, though we do send out more emails in November and December.  You can unsubscribe at any time should you ever change your mind.
