Thanks to the British weather rose sales have been a bit sluggish over recent weeks. We tend to stock up a bit on pink as the summer approaches in the anticipation of some gloriously sunny days but we've been rather let down so far this year haven't we! It does mean though that we still have plenty of rose stock that have yet to attract the new Excise Duty rates so I suppose every cloud has a silver lining.
The weather does seem to be improving now with predicted temperatures in the mid twenties on their way despite the continued threat of the odd grey and damp day.

We reckon Provence rose is overpriced so we concentrate on a couple of southern French alternatives in the form of Cerisiers Cotes du Rhone Rose and Chateau l'Ermite d'Auzan from the Costieres du Nimes. The Pinot Grigio Rose from Mirabello is one of our best selling wines and the Wild House Rose from South Africa is beautifully pale and pretty. Then there's a couple of fuller pinks in the form of Mediodia Garnacha Rosado from Navarra in northern Spain and the fabulous Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon Rose from Miguel Torres in Chile. Something for everyone and every occasion therefore.
