Warre's top property provides the basis for all their vintage ports. In years without general declaration it makes a superb single quinta port. Full, rounded and seductive and drinking well now. This vintage shows floral aromas with notes of redcurrant and kirsch. It is wonderfully rounded and rich with tremendous warmth and length. This is a powerful and generous port that punches well above its weight giving you the vintage port experience without the vintage port price.
Founded in 1670, Warre's is the oldest British Port House and has remained a family owned company throughout its long history.
The backbone of Warre's Ports are made at Quinta da Cavadinha in the Pinhao Valley, and at the historic vineyard of Quinta do Retiro Antigo in the Rio Torto valley. Recently, the magnificent Quinta da Telhada in the far eastern stretches of the Douro has been acquired for Warre's and provides some of its finest grapes.
