Pale, fresh and oak-free with clean fruit, peachy flavours and a lively finish. It's easy to overlook wines like this but it's an excellent and good value expression of the grape.

This is the Mendoza clone of Chardonnay from the Franklin River region of south west Australia, crucially Southern Ocean not Indian Ocean in influence. The grapes are picked at night/dawn to keep them as cool as possible. Grapes were picked earlier than usual for this area to ensure balance and freshness in the final wine. They are gently crushed to maintain the bright, fresh flavours crucial to the clonal tang. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel retains the fresh fruit character of this 100% un-oaked wine.
