100% Tempranillo (though it’s called Tinta del Pais in this bit of Spain) with 12 months in oak (70% French and 30% American) of which about a quarter are new casks, the rest being 2nd, 3rd, or 4th use. The result is a rich and complex red with blackberry fruit and that characteristic vanilla element from the oak. There tends to be a bit more power and concentration here than in Rioja where the wines have more elegance, so if you like the Rioja flavours and are looking for something chunkier why not give this a go? it's a wonderfully complex and deep red with oak spice and a long finish.
