Three Portuguese whites. Two from Vila Nova in Minho (an area now called Vinho Verde, which is also the name of a wine from here). Then there's a white from the Douro Valley as well. The three are quite different but all wonderfully clean and fresh. No oak.
Arinto 2024, Vila Nova, DOC Vinho Verde 12.5% - Remember what you used to know as Vinho Verde? Well, it was a blend, but mostly Arinto. This is light, clean and zippy.
Alvarinho 2024, Vila Nova, DOC Vinho Verde 12.5% - This is what is called Albarino just over the border in Spain. It's fuller and rounder than the Arinto with ripe fruit and gentle florality. Compared to the Spanish version it's excellent value!
Altano Branco 2024, Symington Family Estates, Douro 12.5% - A three grape blend (Aglianico, Moscatel Galego and Viosinho) which is wonderfully grapey and refreshing. Truly original and very hard not to like!
