Mâcon Solutré-Pouilly is a regional appellation of "Mâcon-Villages". The name "Mâcon" followed by Solutré-Pouilly, designates white wines from the area delimited only in the village of Solutré-Pouilly where Chardonnay is the only variety. It is grown on clay-limestone plots located in the commune of the same name and is essentially the little brother of Pouilly-Fuisse. It shows notes of citrus with ripeness and very gentle use of oak, and a fresh minerality. A classic white Burgundy at this price is excellent value.
