Fairly evidently 100% Chardonnay though this is a blend of four or five vintages plus about 20% of reserve wine and in all cases the juice comes only from the first pressing of the grapes. The aim with non-vintage Champagnes such as this is to maintain a consistent style by blending wines from a number of vintages to smooth out the natural variations from harvest to harvest.
This spends 30-36 months in bottle before being disgorged, again there's a judgement to be had here to produce the consistent style. What results is a Champagne which is a little bit richer than many Blanc de Blancs showing ripe fruit and a gentle biscuity edge though it still has that fresh hint of green apple in the background which is typical of a pure Chardonnay Champagne. This is mouthwatering and classy and would stack up well against many more expensive bottles.
