Muscat a Petit Grains grapes, grown organically at altitude in the cool north of Jumilla produce that classic Muscat grapey fruit which shows elements of peach and kiwi which flow through onto the palate with hints of melon. It’s beautifully aromatic yet entirely dry. Mouthwateringly delicious.
The Gil family have been making wine in Jumilla since the early 20th century but Miguel Gil, great-grandson of the company's founder, built a new bodega in time for the 2003 vintage turning them into one of Jumilla's most respected producers. Situated on the slopes of the Peñarrubia mountain, the highest part of Jumilla with poor stony soils they are particularly noted for producing richly flavoured, concentrated Monastrell, but here we have something that is less widely seen - a dry Muscat!
I have a bit too much stock of this wine so am offering a limited quantity at £2.00 per bottle off. The extra 5% discount for ordering 12, or more, still applies!
