Chateau de Luc Rouge 2024, Corbieres, Famille Fabre, Languedoc 14.0%

45% Syrah, 30% Carignan, 15% Grenache Noir and 10% Mourvedre.  The grapes undergo two separate fermentations with the Grenache and Carignan undergoing partial whole berry carbonic maceration to bring out the ripe red fruit characteristics.  The Syrah and Mourvedre undergo a longer and slower fermentation for 20 hours before the two components are blended and allowed to marry with 6 months in steel tanks.  The red fruit is the star here with morello cherry and cassis intertwining with elements of black pepper and spice.  Then comes the garrigue influence of thyme and rosemary on the finish.  The tannins are silky making this a perfect food wine.  Try with grilled lamb chops or olive tapenade.
