Le Bèrne estate is situated in the splendid countryside around the town of Montepulciano an area which has been known for its wine production since the 14th century. Back in the Sixties Egisto Nataline with his son Giuliano decided to make their own wine from their own grapes thus starting the family tradition and in 1995 Andrea - the son of Giuliano - joined the company having first obtained a degree in Agricultural Science. The vineyards stretch to seven hectares which comprise of soil of Pliocene origin with the presence of fossils, shells and stones therefore ideal earth from which to obtain their well-structured red wines. The name Le Bèrne derives from the Etruscan word 'Verna' or 'Verena' which signifies 'Winter' on top of the hill.
