This is 100% Touriga Nacional: dark and dense with rich, black fruit and beautifully integrated, round oak. Juicy and fat with notes of black pastille and portly undertones, held in shape with ripe tannin. Wonderful.

Since 1999 Altano has been the flagship brand for the table wines produced by Symington Family Estates, famous for producing Port and with over a century’s expertise of winemaking in the Douro Valley. The Touriga Nacional grapes, from vineryards planted over 30 years ago, are all hand-picked. They then undergo a rigorous process of sorting by hand so that only the best reach the crusher. The wine is then gently fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel before being aged for 10 to 11 months in American oak which lends its classic sweet vanilla notes to the ripe fruit character.
