A blend of 80% Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha and the remaining 10% a mix of Mazuelo & Graciano. This spends 14 months in American oak and a further 8 months in bottle before release. It's deep red in colour and has an open, fruity nose with a hint of spice from the oak. The tannins are ripe and mellow and the finish long and refined.
Bodegas Olarra was created in 1973. It is situated on the outskirts of the city of LogroƱo in Rioja Alta. The Y shaped building is designed to make optimum use of the space for both production and ageing of the wine. The clay and chalky soil is watered by the rain and the Ebro River. This area also benefits from warm sunshine and the influence of the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts.
