2016 Chapelle de Potensac, Médoc, Bordeaux 13.5%

Château Potensac is a regarded as a benchmark Médoc, situated in the north of the appellation on classic gravel terroir with a reputation for pure fruited, fresh clarets. This second wine, a blend of 75% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc from the lauded 2016 vintage, is for earlier drinking but in the same style with vibrant dark fruit flavours, lifted floral notes, well-rounded tannins and the signature freshness on the finish.  Perfectly approachable now but will keep for a short while if desired.  The 2016 vintage is regarded as one of the most attractive of recent times amongst lovers of Claret.  Technical sheet.
