The second wine of Chateau Lanessan, this is a deeply flavoured plush blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) Merlot (36%) and a nudge of Petit Verdot with a gentle hint of classy oak (one third is aged in oak for one year).
The vineyards of Chateau Lanesan are just over the canal that marks the southern border of the commune of St.Julien so the terroir isn't actually that different to the more illustrious names of Ch.Gruaud-Larose, Ch.Brainaire-Ducru and Ch.Beychevelle just across the border. In our opinion wines from properties such as Ch.Lanessan remain excellent value for money as a result.
