Peppery nose with soft depth of fruit and a full juicy palate. A blend of Grenache, Carignan, Mourvedre and Syrah

From vines grown on Francois Merle's own family domaine in the heart of the southern Rhone valley. With an average age of 30-35 years, the grapes from the older vines were picked by hand. 60% Grenache, 20% Carignan, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah. Hand picked bunches are carefully destemmed and vinified using traditional minimal interventionalist techniques. This wine is made without the use of oak to retain a pure fresh fruit character.
