We are delighted to introduce you to a new Rhone producer in the form of the Domaine la Font de Notre Dame.
Based in Gigondas, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine la Font de Notre Dame is run by the ‘Roux brothers of wine’ - Frédéric and Boris - who worked at the winery for over 30 years before taking over from their father, Jean-Pierre Roux, in 2016. Their winery houses eight traditional 20hl concrete vats and produces only red wines from their 30 hectares of vineyards, which are spread over five southern Rhône appellations: Côtes du Rhône, Côtes du Rhône-Villages Sablet, and the cru of Gigondas, Lirac, and Rasteau. At the heart of this small domaine is an ancient fountain; once a place of pilgrimage for the Provençale people in the Middle Ages (who believed its waters could protect them from the Black Death) and today illustrated on their labels.
